288 Hz Sacral Chakra Traditional Tibetan Singing Bowl - Note D

$480.00

A deeply resonant traditional Tibetan singing bowl tuned to 288 Hz, handmade from scratch through an ancient artisanal process and created for emotional balance, creative practices, relaxation, meditation, and therapeutic sound work.

The 288 Hz Sacral Chakra Traditional Tibetan Singing Bowl is tuned to the note D at 288 Hz, the second frequency in our 432 Hz-based seven-chakra singing bowl system. In contemporary chakra sound practices, the note D is associated with the Sacral Chakra, making this bowl especially suited to meditation, emotional awareness, creative practices, relaxation, and body-centered sound work.

This is a traditional Tibetan singing bowl made entirely by hand from raw materials. The metal passes through many stages of heating, shaping, refining, sizing, finishing, and tuning, with the bowl repeatedly handled and worked by skilled artisans throughout its creation. Thousands of individual shaping and finishing actions may go into achieving the right size, proportions, thickness, weight, note, and resonance.

Every element contributes to the bowl's final voice. Its diameter, wall thickness, curvature, weight, and proportions influence how the metal vibrates and how the fundamental note and harmonic overtones develop. Rather than producing an identical factory-made instrument, the traditional process allows the artisan to gradually work the bowl toward its intended acoustic character.

Our bowls are rooted in the traditional Tibetan and Himalayan metal singing-bowl tradition. They are not crystal singing bowls and are not mass-produced modern sound instruments. Crystal bowls belong to a different and much more contemporary instrument tradition; these bowls are specifically created to preserve the craftsmanship, materials, and sound characteristics of traditional Himalayan metal bowls.

The bowl is created using a 432 Hz tuning system rather than the modern A = 440 Hz reference. Within this system, the note D corresponds to 288 Hz, creating the second frequency in our seven-chakra collection.

The Sacral Chakra, traditionally known as Svadhisthana, is commonly associated with creativity, emotional awareness, fluidity, pleasure, and connection with the body's natural rhythms. The warm, flowing resonance of the 288 Hz bowl can provide an intentional sound focus for practices centered on emotional awareness, creativity, relaxation, and movement.

Singing bowls have long been used in Himalayan and Buddhist contemplative practices, while modern research is increasingly examining their use as complementary sound and vibrational practices. A 2025 systematic review identified 19 clinical studies on singing-bowl interventions and found potential benefits involving anxiety, depression, sleep, cognitive function, and physiological measures.

The 288 Hz Sacral Chakra Singing Bowl is the second bowl in our seven-chakra system based on 432 Hz tuning.

Our complete frequency system is:

  • 256 Hz — C — Root Chakra

  • 288 Hz — D — Sacral Chakra

  • 324 Hz — E — Solar Plexus Chakra

  • 364.5 Hz — F — Heart Chakra

  • 384 Hz — G — Throat Chakra

  • 432 Hz — A — Third Eye Chakra

  • 486 Hz — B — Crown Chakra

Within contemporary chakra and sound-healing traditions, D at 288 Hz is associated with the Sacral Chakra, or Svadhisthana. The Sacral Chakra is traditionally connected with creativity, emotional expression, fluidity, pleasure, sensual awareness, and the ability to move through life with greater ease.

The 432 Hz reference provides a consistent musical foundation for the seven frequencies in this collection. Rather than using the more common A = 440 Hz reference, the entire system is built around A = 432 Hz.

A traditional singing bowl produces a complex acoustic experience rather than a single isolated frequency. When struck or played around its rim, the bowl generates a fundamental tone together with harmonics, overtones, and sustained vibration. These sounds interact and evolve over time, creating the characteristic richness of a traditional Himalayan singing bowl.

Traditional Craftsmanship

The making of a traditional Tibetan singing bowl is a process of patience, skill, repetition, and precision.

The raw metal is progressively heated, shaped, formed, refined, and finished by skilled artisans. The bowl passes through the hands of the craftspeople repeatedly as they work toward the desired size, weight, thickness, shape, note, and resonance.

It is this repeated human craftsmanship that gives a traditional bowl its character. Every stage contributes to the way the finished bowl vibrates and sings.

A factory-produced or mechanically formed bowl can reproduce a shape quickly and consistently, but it does not represent the same traditional making process. Likewise, crystal singing bowls are a fundamentally different type of instrument and are not part of the ancient Tibetan/Himalayan metal singing-bowl tradition.

Sound, Tradition & Research

Singing bowls have been used in Himalayan and Buddhist contemplative environments for generations. Today, they are also used in meditation, yoga, relaxation, sound baths, breathwork, and complementary sound-therapy settings.

The modern scientific literature is beginning to investigate these practices.

A 2025 systematic review published in Integrative Medicine Research identified 19 clinical studies from eight countries, including nine randomized controlled trials. The research examined singing-bowl interventions across areas including anxiety, depression, sleep, pain, neurological function, and psychological and physiological outcomes. The review concluded that singing bowls may have potential benefits for anxiety, depression, sleep quality, cognitive function, and some physiological measures, while noting variation in study quality and the need for further research.

A second 2025 systematic review published in Healthcare examined 14 quantitative studies specifically involving Tibetan singing-bowl interventions in adults. Most of the included studies reported reductions in anxiety and depressive symptoms, improvements in wellbeing and quality of life, increases in heart-rate variability, and decreases in heart rate. Some studies also reported changes in Delta and Theta brainwave activity. The authors concluded that Tibetan singing bowls show potential as a complementary approach for stress reduction and psychological wellbeing, while emphasizing the limitations created by heterogeneous study designs and the need for stronger research.

The association between 288 Hz and the Sacral Chakra, however, comes from contemporary chakra and sound-healing traditions. Scientific research on singing bowls does not establish that 288 Hz specifically repairs, balances, or medically treats the Sacral Chakra.

This bowl can be incorporated into meditation, yoga, breathwork, creative rituals, emotional-awareness practices, sound baths, relaxation sessions, chakra-focused practices, and professional sound therapy.

References to Sacral Chakra balance, emotional release, creative energy, or energetic alignment describe traditional and contemporary sound-practice associations rather than scientifically established effects of 288 Hz on the Sacral Chakra.

How to Use

Place the singing bowl on the included protective bowl cushion or another stable, suitable surface.

Gently strike the outer wall of the bowl and allow the sound to develop naturally. Listen as the fundamental tone and harmonic overtones emerge and gradually fade.

For a sustained singing tone, slowly move the appropriate striker around the outer rim using steady, gentle pressure. Allow the resonance to build gradually rather than forcing the sound.

For Sacral Chakra-focused meditation, use the 288 Hz D tone as an auditory point of focus. Sit comfortably, breathe naturally, and allow your attention to follow the changing resonance of the bowl.

The bowl can also be incorporated into creative practices, yoga, breathwork, emotional-awareness rituals, meditation, sound baths, relaxation practices, and professional sound therapy sessions.

Allow the resonance to fade naturally before repeating.
